After One Year…
Today of last year, I started driving independently to work. Frankly, after I got my driving license 11 years ago, I had never driven a car. And now after one year of driving to work……
…besides driving to work and back home, I only know how to drive to my corporate office in Jln Yew and my sis’ house around Bukit Jalil.
…out of 10 times, only 2 times that I can park my car straight and within the box.
…I need a very big space to reverse the car.
…I am still afraid of narrow roads. I have to wait till the opposite cars are cleared before I dare to go forward.
…I have zero knowledge in pumping petrol. My petrol tank never gets empty…thanks to Darling. 🙂
…I only know how to push the gear to “P”, “N” and “D”. As long as the car is moving, who cares!
…from driving on 80 km/hour to 110 km/hour. It’s an achievement right? 😛
…I can drop by supermart/shopping mall anytime I like. Provided they have big and ample parking lots.
Of all, I thank God that I have not met into any accident so far.
Latest update: Darling changed company last year and so he can drop me off to work now. Yea, yea…I’ve got my “chauffer” back. I am definitely one blessed wife…

Oh, how nice ….. you really improved a lot in driving actually and you have a great husband as well! My hubby asked me to get a car myself last time when I asked him to drop me off work 🙁
Merryn says:
u are sooo much better than me.. i’ve not been driving my whole life but never failed to renew my license! for me.. driving is sooooo stressful that after each driving episode, i’ll emerge out from the car shakky legs and sweaty! so… better be a passenger than a driver!
littlelamb says:
Can hubby chauffeur me as well??
Its good you pick up the driving skills again. No harm and could use for standby..
HN says:
You are one lucky lady 😀 How nice to be able to go to work together! I am not that good in driving either, but I enjoy it very much! For me, driving = freedom 🙂
Ann says:
It sure is great for the finances and on your marriage that you can spend the time sharing the car!
But good for us to learn to drive too in case of emergencies and when we just need to GET OUT!
huisia says:
yeah, you’re a blessed wife who has FOC chauffer!
Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family!
Joanne Tiew says:
Last time I also very phobia to drive. After I got my license for 5 years, then only i started to drive.
Now I love to drive, but I just don’t have the opportunity as my husband normally be the chauffer..hehe.
Pet says:
My husband drives me to work too! But I had to park the car in the office becoz it is much nearer for me, if he parks, he walks like 10 mins to reach his cubicle. Btw, we work in the same company… just different building.
sting says:
hahaha.. you are definitely one blessed mummy!! but that’s quite an achievement
Ryan mami says:
Great achievements Julie!!
Ya, it’s definitely blessed to get a chauffeur to work…and I’m also one of them too… hehe!
Julie says:
Caroline – Thanks. I still need more guts to drive on heavy traffic roads.
Merryn – I think that way too. Better to sit back and relax rather than to be on the wheel. *cold sweat*
Littlelamb – Yeah, this actually kinda forced me to pick up driving. I’m now a standby driver in case my hubby is not available.
HN – I enjoy it too. Sometimes too enjoyable that I accelerated above 110km/hr. 😛
Ann – It really has saved a lot in terms of financial. Saved on the toll and petrol.
Joanne & Ryan mami – *Hands up and High 5* 🙂
Pet – That’s great. Those days we work in the same company too. I resigned before we got married due to conflict of interest.
Hui Sia & Sting – Thanks.
