A Little Update on #2

Visited my gynae yesterday at week 33.  The scan a little upsetting me. Oh no, don’t worry…little one is doing fine.  Still kicking and squirming actively in mommy’s tummy.

The scan revealed 2 things.

1.  #2 gonna be a much smaller baby compare to Jonathan whose birthweight was 3.99kg.  She is about 1.6kg now (normal weight is about 2kg) and doctor estimated her birthweight to be nothing more than 3kg.  I suspected this earlier from the size of my tummy that doesn’t seems like an 7+ months preggar. I received same comments from people around me. Comparing to my previous pregnancy, it is like I’m just in my 6 months.

Told my eldest sis about it and this was what she said: “You sleep more then baby will grow. My youngest girl is the biggest among her siblings because I slept well. Sis W (my 3rd sis) got all big babies because she slept like a pig.”

LOL! I’m not hoping for a big baby but just about the right size so that she will be much easier to care for.  Any suggestion on how to increase the little one’s weight? My doc already warned me not to overeat on CNY.

2.  Baby’s position is head up right now.  No wonder I was getting all the squirming and kicking around my lower belly.  Praying hard now that she will decide to turn down when the time comes.

I dont think you should do anything. Just continue what you are doing daily, eat well (in quality), rest and exercise is sufficient. You will be in good hands..

Julie, don’t worry so much about increasing baby’s weight unless doctor advises u to do so! As long baby is healthy, no worries 🙂 She will put on more weight once she is out and feeding on mummy’s BM 🙂

Will pray for u, baby is a good girl, she will turn head down when she knows the time is right 😉

    Smile!

Given her size, I am sure she will have loads of space to turn when the right time comes!

As for size…well, my son was 2.9 kg and he was still alright. Just eat healthy and as long as the baby is healthy, I am sure she will be alright to take care.

Zoe was only 2.5 Kg was she was born. But my pregnancy was a tough one, so cannot compare.
I think most importantly is must remember to stay happy and positive and give birth to a happy Baby regardless of the weight.
I really do not find it hard to handle Zoe as she is really small at birth. Now, she is weighing at 15-16Kg at 3+ years old…so, no worries, be happy ya!

Listen to everyone here about eating and resting well 🙂 That’s more important than eating more just to increase baby’s weight, which is not advisable too.

Anyway, I’m learning now that baby girls are always smaller than baby boys.

My baby girl was born at 2.3 kg but she’s doing well now. Even better than her elder brother in terms of overall health and development actually!

Sleep, sleep, sleep all you can because you’ll not be getting much when you become a Mum of two 😀
