Praise the Lord! Jonathan is growing well although he still spit up milk at times. This is Jonathan’s growth so far:

Birth
Weight: 3.99kg
Height: 53cm
Head Cir.: 34cm

1 Month
Weight: 4.3kg
Height: 56cm
Head Cir.: 36cm

2 Months
Weight: 5.8kg
Height: 60cm
Head Cir.: 40cm

3 Months
Weight: 7.1kg
Height: 63cm
Head Cir.: 41cm

In between 2 to 3 months, Jonathan is able to laugh and he likes to smile with mouth open wide. He will then hide his face shyly. He started to lift up his head at the age of 1 month and now he can do mini push-up steadily. When he is angry, he tend to push himself forward. He can grasp his soft toys now. He is learning to turn too. And I think soon he will learn to crawl. He’s becoming more observant now. His head and eyes will turn to follow wherever I go. He’s a big eater until his Paediatrician, Dr. Lee advised us to watch his weight. Well, it could be genetic as Darling and I were both a heavy baby.

Oh, my little baby boy is still an impatient cry baby. When he is hungry, sleepy or not in the mood, he wouldn’t allow you to lie him down. Worse now, he is so used to sleeping on his tummy until he is not able to fall asleep on his back and starts to fuss.

We brought Jonathan for immunization yesterday. He almost wanted to cry by showing his “tut tut” (sharp) mouth but I quickly pampered him. You just can’t imagine how loud is his cry if he really cried it out.

Jonathan…2 Months

Our Jonathan boy is 2 months old today. He has grown taller and heavier since birth. His birth weight was 3.99kg and 53cm tall. Due to pyloric stenosis which he suffered when he was 2 weeks old, he only gained 0.3kg after 1 month. But praise and give thanks to our Lord that Jonathan is now weighing 5.8kg and 60cm tall. We also want to thank Jonathan’s surgeon, Dr. Goon for his passion and gentleness. May God bless you!

Baby Jonathan is really a big eater that needs to be fed every 2 hours. I’m glad he is consuming the milk well now. He is a baby that requires comfort. He likes being hug and sway to sleep. I know I already created a habit in him but I don’t mind to give him the comfort as long as he feels the peace. I just like to have him resting his head on my shoulder and chest while snoozing off.

You need patience to take care of Baby Jonathan. He is a rather impatient baby. The moment he wakes up for the next feed, he will not allow you to bath him, change him and even play with him but will start crying for milk. But once he is satisfied after feeding, you can do anything to him. His smiles and cooing will melt your heart. He started to smile and coo when he was just 1 month old. He will do that when you (especially children) talk to him and when looking at the musical mobile hanging on top of him. At times, if you walk away, he will start crying for attention. When you talk to him again, he begins to smile and coo again.

That’s my baby and I’m happy for that. Amen!

I shall be back to work on Monday. I takes care of Jonathan all on my own during the past two months, so he is quite sticky to me. I hope Jonathan will behave well under the care of my MIL when I’m at work. MIL have to cook and do house chores so she can spend most of her time with Jonathan. I also hope Darling can leave work on time so that I can play with Jonathan before he sleeps.

Ouch! My Hair…

Since birth, Jonathan has to wear mittens and booties so that he won’t scratch himself as his finger nails are long (not allowed to trim until full month). Yesterday, sis helped to trim his nails so we stop putting on mittens for him.

I was putting on clothes for Jonathan this morning after his morning bath. He quietly let me handle him but out of a sudden, he cried so loud. I thought I hurt him somewhere but when I looked up at him, his fingers was pulling his hair so tightly. I quickly released his fingers. Poor boy…

Jonathan…1 Month

Baby Jonathan turns one month old today. During the past two weeks, it was a period where God had tested our faith and endurance.

Today, I give thanks to our loving Lord for Jonathan’s boldness and courage during his time of sickness. Because of Him, we have today. AMEN!
